Gap Analysis

Our Diagnostic Gap Analysis is an in-depth analysis of your event or organization’s sustainability practices compared to the performance requirements of the ISO and ASTM event sustainability standards, and the reporting requirements of the GRI Event Organizers Sector Supplement.

This confidential assessment rates each performance indicator according to "not covered", "partially covered" and/or "reasonably covered". Strengths and weaknesses of the report or performance under the standard are also identified, such as whether or not you have adequate quantitative data sets to support key assertions or have practices in place to meet a performance level.

In addition, we provide recommendations to help your company achieve the reporting level or performance standard you seek. We also partner with organizations that can help you implement the practices needed to move your organization towards your goals.

As part of our Diagnostic Gap Analysis we assess the sustainability of key components of your event, including:

  • Destination
  • Venue
  • Accommodations
  • Transportation
  • Food and Beverage

Within each element, we focus on:

  • Staff and Vendor Management
  • Communications: Internal and External
  • Resource Management: Energy, Waste, Water
  • Air Quality/ Carbon
  • Procurement Practices and Tracking
  • Community Engagement

Once the diagnostic assessment is complete based on the ASTM, ISO, and GRI EOS criteria, we can then compare the sustainability performance of your event or organization to:

Key competitors

Using publicly available information such as websites and reports we can compare the sustainability performance of your event or company to your competitors.

Your event portfolio

If you produce multiple events each year, we can create an analysis of each event’s performance in regards to sustainability.

Year to year performance

Using the standards we are able to provide a baseline of your events sustainability performance and tools to track continual improvement.
